Mental health is important, that's my focus, all month long. And, I must say, I'm enjoying writing everyday so far.
What we say to ourselves moment to moment affects our thoughts, reactions and behaviors.
Be kind to yourself.
Did you see that? You just read that I am “enjoying writing daily” and I'm encouraging you to be kind to Yourself! Welcome to my beautiful thoughts today. 🥰🤣 I'm thinking, “we've got this”!
This is especially for my friends who are survivors of debilitating conditions. I know it's hard—it's challenging and painful at times. I'm hoping that something I share this month might touch someone, even bring a little hope and possibly a smile.
Today we’re tapping into feelings through color.
Color is powerful. It evokes, it expresses, and it speaks when words cannot. Long before I found the confidence to call myself an artist, color was my quiet companion—offering healing, comfort, and curiosity.
When you pick up a brush or pen, the color you choose is never random. It holds meaning. Emotion. Memory.
Today’s Assignment: Color Your Feelings
It’s Sunday. How are you feeling?
Tired? Energized? Hopeful? Heavy? Fatigued? Grateful?
Today, pause and ask yourself honestly: What color best represents how I feel today?
Choose a single color and draw something simple—a shape, a line, a swirl. No pressure. Just feel and color.
Explore These 6 Colors + Emotions
Here are six colors to play with. Let your feelings guide you.
1. Yellow ⭐️ – Often symbolizes joy, energy, or lightness. A warm ray in the middle of heaviness. Sometimes, it's fragile hope. 🟡
2. Blue – A calming presence, but also sorrow’s companion. Blue is for reflection, depth, and steady breath. My favorite 💙.
3. Red – Passion, fire, anger, power. Red is a bold declaration, even if it’s just to yourself. ♥️
4. Green – Growth, healing, rest. The kind of peace that comes with being grounded or reaching toward the light. 💚
5. Purple – Mystery, magic, and introspection. Purple is for the quiet unknown, for creativity born from pain or peace. 💜
6. Black + White – Simplicity and contrast. Sometimes clarity lives here. Sometimes chaos. Explore it gently. 🔳 🔲
Let today be light. Let today be honest.
You don’t need to create something finished—you just need to show up to the page and color or draw in a feeling.
I personally love drawing flowers. So, I attached a drawing I'm working on. Nothing special. Just me and my sketchbook with no goal in mind, just drawing. Judgement free zone. Your turn.
Let me know what color found you today. What meaning did it have for you?
With tenderness, ❤️
