Fear is a sneaky thing. It creeps in unnoticed, disguising itself as hesitation, as caution, as an invisible barrier between us and our creative freedom. I didn’t even realize I was afraid—afraid of using too much paint, afraid of making the wrong stroke, afraid of the blank, white canvas staring back at me.
For so long, I approached painting with a careful, measured hand, always questioning if I was doing it "right." But art—especially abstract art—is not about right or wrong. It’s about feeling, movement, and expression. It’s about trusting the process and letting go.
Today, I choose to walk into the fear. I grab my brush, and instead of second-guessing, I make big, bold strokes. I let the colors blend, collide, and dance. I load my brush with paint and press it to the canvas with confidence. No hesitation. No holding back. Just pure, fearless expression.
The blank canvas is no longer intimidating—it is an invitation. My paints are no longer something to be rationed—they are tools of joy, energy, and life. Sitting at the canvas, or sketchbook, or whatever, is not a time for perfection, but creation!!
Today, I paint without fear, and in doing so, I find a deeper connection to myself and my art.
If fear has been whispering in your ear, telling you to hold back, I encourage you to challenge it. Pick up the brush, the pen, the instrument—whatever your medium—and walk into the fear. On the other side, you may just find freedom.
Today, I embrace my paints, my canvas, and my colors. Today, I create without fefear.
What will you create without fear?
